Standard Life axes IT bods

Life insurance giant Standard Life will shed 70 jobs from its IT department in Edinburgh in what it hopes will be a round of "voluntary" layoffs.

No other departments are said to be on the chopping block, and the biz said that laying off its techies will somehow allow the company to "enhance how we deliver technology" to customers. ®
