Dell kills CRT suit

Dell has dropped an eight-year-long price-fixing lawsuit against LG.

The two sides have filed in a Northern California District Court to end the case, in which Dell accused LG of illegally conspiring with other CRT monitor makers to hike up prices in the late 1990s. Each side will pay their own costs for the case.

LG had been among the companies who earlier this year agreed to pay a $5m package of refunds and legal costs to consumers in California, who bore the brunt of the price hike by paying for more expensive monitors and TV sets. ®
