McAuley: I am no longer a VIP Group distie man

Purchasing director considers next move 'internally and externally'

VIP Computer Centre purchasing director Duncan McAuley has stepped back from the Warrington-based distributor after more than a decade on board.

McAuley confirmed he has not yet resigned from parent VIP Group - which includes a component and computer distie arm as well as a PC builder operation - and is considering his options both “internally and externally”.

“This was my decision, I’ve been thinking about a move for the past six to nine months. The business is in a good shape but needs a single point of direction,” he told El Chan.

Sales director Rich Marsden, who joined VIP when it acquired Real Time Distribution, will now be the sole leader at VIP Computer Centre, reporting to group chairman Jatti Sahni.

VIP Group acquired a couple of system assemblers in recent years including CMS Computers and Ergo Computing. ®
