Quadsys Five trial delayed yet again

Alleged fraudsters have two months before next court date

The trial of five men from security reseller Quadsys, who all stand accused of fraud, was delayed yet again today.

The men were charged last summer and attended a plea and case management hearing at Oxford Crown Court in December – but proceedings were held up until today's scheduled hearing, which was deferred by the court for another two months.

A clerk at the court today confirmed the lack of progress was because “the defence was not ready to enter a plea”, and revealed the next hearing date was set for 17 March.

The Quadsys Five include MD Paul Cox, who stands accused of conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation and blackmail.

Owner Paul Streeter, director Alistair Barnard, account manager Steve Davies and security solutions consultant Jon Townsend each face a count of conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation.

The men were first arrested in March 2015 following an investigation by Thames Valley Police into allegations they hacked into a rival reseller to steal customer data and sensitive pricing information. ®
