Microsoft has picked over the “key product and technology assets” of Adxstudio, a long-time Dynamics CRM and application development partner.
The deal will see Microsoft get Adxstudio’s technology, but not its consulting business. That will now be spun off into a new organisation. No-one in either company is talking about the value of the acquisition.
Adxstudio makes web portals, along with software for handling online engagement and application lifecycle management. These all sit on top of Microsoft’s cloud-based Dynamics CRM and extend its reach allowing companies to create online sales and customer service operations.
In other words, companies can use Adxstudio to create tech support websites or let customers provide feedback.

Microsoft is still playing catch-up in the CRM space. The company’s Dynamics CRM is in fourth place behind offerings from Salesforce, SAP and Oracle. CEO Satya Nadell has talked publicly in recent weeks of a partnership with Salesforce, but the pair have been dancing around an on-again, off-again relationship for months.
Adxstudio has always been close to Microsoft. The company is based in Canada, but runs an office in Redmond and is, in part, staffed by ex-Microsoft employees. Some of these will return to the mothership as the deal proceeds. ®
