Distie formerly known as Micro P grabs industry vet

Jon Atherton lands as commercial director

Distie veteran Jon Atherton has rocked up as commercial director at the company formerly known as Micro P.

Atherton quit Midlands-based component distie EntaTech back in March, he’d been at the company for 22 years, latterly as veep.

As the newbie at Exertis, the name chosen by parent DCC Technology, Atherton will concentrate on existing B2B vendors, try to bring more on board, and manage the existing commercial team.

Atherton said the plan is to get into new technology areas but didn’t specify which ones.

DCC Technology, which recently acquired consumer tech wholesaler Computers Unlimited for £24m, reported a 3.7 per cent jump in sales to £2.35bn recently.

UK and Irish ops accounted for almost four fifths of the top line number, making DCC and its various brands one of the largest distributors on these shores. ®
