Open source Hadoop purveyor Hortonworks doubled its quarter-on-quarter net losses in the first quarter of 2015 to a loss of $40m (£25m).
Meanwhile, revenue rose 167 per cent to $22.8m (£14.5m).
For its full-year, the company estimates a net loss of between $78m (£50m) and $84m (£54m). In its previous full-year results, it posted a net loss of $177.3m (£114m).
It estimates revenue between $94m (£60m) and $97m (£62m) – an increase of 83 per cent.
During the quarter, the company added 105 more support subscription customers. However, its main income is from its partnerships with professional services firms, having recently added Accenture as one of its "platinum" partners.
The company said its support subscription customer base is now more than 400, a 200 per cent year-over-year growth in its customer base.
Hortonworks CEO Rob Bearden said in a conference call that the profile of its customers is expanding.
"Not only in the traditional large enterprise IT organisations, but also the Fortune 2000. We are then also seeing incremental growth within existing customers," he said. ®
