Europe drags, as Accenture posts steady growth

Outsourcing giant sees 13 per cent North American increase

Outsourcing giant Accenture posted a yearly sales increase of five per cent to $7.5bn (£5bn) for its second quarter results, highlighting its "digital" investments as a reason for the consistent growth.

However, its European revenue dropped by two per cent to $2.66bn (£1.8bn). The company singled out France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands as strong performers, but did not mention the UK.

Overall outsourcing revenues rose six per cent $3.65bn (£2.45m).

The company's results were boosted by growth in its North American area, growing 13 per cent to $3.41bn (£2.3bn).

Pierre Nanterme, chief executive of Accenture, said investments in cloud, mobility and analytics over the last two years are paying off as "the world has changed".

He added: "We delivered revenue growth of more than 20 per cent in local currency in the first half of the fiscal year."

The company said it expects net revenues for the third quarter of fiscal 2015 to be in the range of $7.35bn-$7.60bn (£5bn-£5.1bn). ®
