Dell director Poskett leaves Dell for new role at … Dell

Luckily, he’ll still be ‘leveraging his extensive experience’. Phew

Less than two months after rocking up as Dell UK’s public sector enterprise solutions director , Dave Poskett is set to perch his backside on a new hot seat at, erm, the Texan tech baron.

The industry vet is set to run the enterprise solution channels for the privately held organisation, reporting to Peter Barnes, chieftain of the Enterprise Solutions team in Blighty.

A spokeswoman confirmed to El Chan that Poskett, who only joined the company in December, will be “transitioning” to the position.

Apparently, the recruit will be “leveraging his extensive experience to focus on the continued success of our enterprise solutions business in the channel,” the Dell PR hand added.

Still with us? Good. This job involves “supporting distribution and managed services providers”.

Dell is close to appointing Tech Data to carry the entire portfolio in the UK, mirroring the strategy it rolled out across parts of mainland Europe.

A deal was expected to have been in place by now but Dell told us it has nothing to confirm, and will let us know when it is good and ready.

Prior to Dell, Poskett ran channels and then helmed local ops for Huawei Enterprise, before that he was IBM client director at Cisco and even further back in time he ran the UK channel teams at HP.

Dell kindly told us that Mark Gallacher will be replacing Poskett as enterprise solutions director. ®
