Microsoft rolls up more Windows Server 2012 R2 updates

Office 365 monitoring and virtual machine visualiser among 40-plus tweaks

Microsoft has issued a new “rollup” of enhancements and fixes to Windows Server 2012 R2.

The new rollup is the third for the OS and, as is described here, offers downloads for more than 40 issues.

Perhaps the most notable addition is the Office 365 management pack, as it gives Windows Server admins the chance to “monitor the health of their Office 365 subscriptions and provide alerts when subscribed services may be experiencing an outage.”

There's also “two new dashboards focused on visualizing resource consumption of virtualization hosts and VMs” that add functionality to Microsoft's Virtual Machine Manager. Those with big virtual machine fleets may also appreciate the scalable VM backup tool added to Data Protection Manager.

Folks who rely on Operations Manager have the most to gain from implementing the rollup, as it offers 16 enhancements for that package. ®
