DiData adds DCs in three countries

Cloudy in Melbourne, London and Sao Paulo

Dimension Data has announced a global expansion of its data centre footprint to help it create a global cloud.

The NTT-owned services provider already has a data centre in Ashburn, Virginia. As part of NTT's desire to embiggen its Australian operations, the next DC to be added to DiData's MCP (managed cloud platform) operation will be in Melbourne, Australia. This is due to go live before the end of this month.

Two further locations will be added next year, with London and Sao Paulo data centres to be switched on in January 2014.

Once the three new locations begin talking to the world, Dimension Data will have a total of 11 locations supporting its IaaS and managed hosting offerings, covering public, private and hosted private cloud services. Its other DCs are in San Jose, Amsterdam, Sydney, Johannesburg, Tokyo and Hong Kong. ®
