Hark! Mark McHale hailed as new Arrow ECS UK boss man

Steve Pearce moves to Euro role

Exclusive Arrow Electronic Computing Solutions has hoisted sales director Mark McHale to the UK manager's office as industry vet Steve Pearce moves to a European role.

Pearce will remain as UK veep but drops country manager from his title as he takes on a bunch of project work including the development of the ArrowSphere cloud portfolio.

"My role will be coordinating projects in Europe, we are giving Mark space to focus on the daily operations in the UK," Pearce told The Channel.

Staff were told yesterday afternoon about the changes, leading to some wider channel speculation that Pearce, who joined Arrow when it acquired InTechnology in December 2006, was leaving.

This is not the case he assures us though he has been working four days a week in a change of lifestyle.

"We are seeing Arrow get bigger and broader at a European level, there's lots of project work including our cloud service, this is a major initiative for us," he added.

ArrowSphere aggregates cloud providers' services so they can be transacted and billed by the channel. It launched last summer including storage-as-a-service, Iaas, Paas and SaaS products. ®
