Chipmaker Micron Technology has reached a settlement with Oracle in a lawsuit the company brought over the price of memory.

Oracle alleged that Micron had conspired with four unnamed companies to inflate DRAM chip prices paid by Oracle's Sun Microsystems business from 1998 until at least 2002 and claimed damages.

Micron said that it had reached an agreement with Oracle to settle the case, but didn't directly disclose the terms of the settlement.

The memory firm saidthe settlement would impact its revenue and loss for the second fiscal quarter of 2012, increasing the loss by $58m to $282m.

"The full effect of the settlement on Micron's results of operations and financial position for the second quarter of fiscal 2012 will be provided in Micron's Form 10-Q," the firm said in a canned statement.

Oracle bought Sun in 2010. It had no comment on the settlement. ®
