Viglen old-timer Ashley Rolfe, right-hand man to chief exec Bordan Tkachuk, has pitched up at Lenovo as a tech evangelist.

Rolfe left the role as product development director last week, ending a near 18-year tenure with Lord Shuggie's only remaining IT company of any size.

Hertfordshire-based public sector specialist Viglen confirmed Martin Green, product development manager, had taken on the responsibilities on an temporary basis.

According to Rolfe's LinkedIn page, he has joined high-flying Lenovo as a technologist. The vendor is aiming to unseat HP from the top of the PC market within three years.

Channel sources said Rolfe was part of Viglen's fixtures and fittings, and voiced surprise that he had left for pastures new.

Viglen and Rolfe did not respond to calls for comment. ®
