Bagged salad contained decomposed AVIAN CORPSE
Bloke failed to notice, served it to missus anyway
A Tesco's baby leaf and rocket salad harboured a gruesome interloper – a decomposed bird carcass.
Somerset man Paul Streeter unwittingly served up the grisly corpse to his girlfriend and children, after emptying the bagged salad into a bowl and serving it to them with a pizza.
Streeter said his girlfriend cut into the bird believing it was "a dark leaf". On discovering the bird, she shrieked and later vomited.
The BBC reports Streeter as saying: "I couldn't believe my eyes. It was horrific. She was seconds away from eating it."
The bird was described as "decomposed and skeletal".
Tesco's stated that they have apologised to Streeter, saying: "We take matters of this kind extremely seriously and are very disappointed to learn of this incident." ®
