And so to Paris, where we find Microsoft getting in a froth about its upcoming Windows 7 launch next month by becoming a café owner to punt a slice of OS with its watery espresso.

The software vendor will be peddling its operating system wares on the chic streets of France’s capital, where it plans to open a Windows Café on 22 October.

That date is, of course, the official launch day for Windows 7. Microsoft said the café would allow Parisians to check out the firm’s latest operating system and other tech while supping on a cuppa coffee.

Photos of the café, at 47 Boulevard de Sébastopol behind the Forum des Halles, first appeared on French tech website Nowhere Else.

And as Silicon Valley Insider points out, a quick search on Google Street View reveals that the joint had previously been called “Wet Willie’s”. Make of that what you will.
