HP punts Officejet threesome at SMBs

One page after another

Hewlett-Packard has launched three new Officejet printers aimed at the small and medium business (SMB) market.

The company is punting its HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One series at customers in Western Europe from today, while Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East and Africa will have to wait for the product to land on 1 June. It retails at a recommended street price of €299–€499, said HP.

The HP Officejet Pro 8000 printer series is available worldwide from today and carries a recommended price tag of €149–€199.

HP’s Officejet 6500 All-in-One series will be made available to customers in the EMEA region from 1 April, also at a RRP of €149–€199.

The firm claimed that its new printer threesome produces professional quality colour documents for up to 50 per cent lower cost per page, and half the energy consumption of rival printers currently on the market.

HP also pitched its new line of products at bleary-eyed SMB execs who are feeling the pinch from the current economic downturn.

“In the current adverse economic environment, the favorable cost–value ratio of business inkjet devices in particular should appeal to SMBs, as colour printing has become an integral part of successful business and key to operations for such companies,” said IDC researcher Jan Siroky. ®
