A Brocade product called a DCX-4S has been tested (http://www.de.tuv.com/germany/en/php/search_en.php?lookfor=press) and awarded a GS-Mark by TÜV Rheinland Product Safety, an authorised institution in Germany for testing product safety and quality. What is it?

A search on Brocade's website reveals nothing. The DCX is Brocade's data centre backbone switch which was launched (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/01/23/brocade_dcx_backbone/) a year ago, give or take a few days.

Jacques Maleval thinks (http://www.storagenewsletter.com/news/connection/brocade-dcx-backbone-to-come-dcx-4s) it is a new director switch and will be launched before the end of the month. The TÜV Rheinland certificate (http://www.tuvdotcom.com/pi/web/ProductCertificate.xml?strUrlId=1&strUserId=&strLevel=-1&option=productcertificate&productid=759432&gqm=&certificateid=420688&pageno=697287&certpageindex=697287), number 72081999, describes it as a Fibre Channel Director.

Brocade was unable to comment at the time of going to press. ®
