UK schools computer supplier RM has bagged a partnership deal with Tesco for the retail giant’s forthcoming voucher collection scheme which kicks off in 2009.

Tesco has merged into one catalogue its two voucher schemes - Computers for Schools and Sport for Schools and Clubs - that were previously supported by RM.

Under the new agreement, financial terms of which were kept secret, RM said it will provide a range of products that will support many different areas of the curriculum.

The firm claimed the scheme was the largest promotion of its kind in Blighty, providing schools with computer kit and resources worth millions of pounds.

In May, RM disappointed the City by turning in sluggish revenue growth and a slide in profits for the first six months of the company’s fiscal year. It said it was pinning its hopes on the second half of the year.

Just last month RM’s boss announced his resignation after more than 25 years with the computer supplier.

The firm, which specialises in software, services and systems for the UK education market, confirmed that chief executive Tim Pearson would step down from his role, to be replaced by current group managing director Terry Sweeney on 30 September 2008. ®
