Another problem with salesforce.com's handling of its EMEA customers' data and services is that they are hosted in the US of A, although at a specific domain (emea.salesforce.com). We all know that the economic war is on between the US and Europe (and the rest of the world). We have seen judges in the US stick up airline companies to grab "test data" for their future terrorist-detection (krap) information systems; others walking up to Google or Yahoo for personal data. The next step could be them asking salesforce.com to hand over sensitive business data from a European competitor to a long-armed US company. Having your business data hosted out of your jurisdiction is not great. Rup |
