Swedish police cuff seven for online pill sales

Suspiciously bulgy packages

Swedish police have arrested seven people suspected of running an illegal online pharmacy.

The as-yet-unnamed gang are accused of running a trio of websites that sold prescription drugs, such as Viagra, without a prescription. Investigators reckon the group made millions of euros selling penis pills and the like to punters in 65 different countries over a four year period from 2003.

The group was undone after a post office clerk became suspicious about the same man sending packages to foreign countries every day. She tipped off the police who discovered the drugs when they opened the intercepted parcels.

Sites used by the gang - 247-drugstore.com, no1onlinepharmacy.com and personalonlinepharmacy.com - have been taken out of operation.

The gang used affiliate programs to boost traffic to their sites, web security firm F-Secure reports. ®
