AMD has published version 8.1 of its Catalyst driver package for Windows XP and Vista, an update that brings a host of game-related tweaks but, more importantly, supports OpenGL rendering across multiple GPUs and monitors.
Games affected by the tweak include Bioshock, Half-life 2, FEAR, Oblivion, Call of Juarez, Quake Wars and World of Warcraft.

AMD also promised a raft of tweaks for the Linux version of the driver, though it admitted the code isn't ready yet. Headline additions include support for the latest versions of leading Linux distros, including Ubuntu 7.10 and RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.1.
