Red Hat nails Dell as JBoss dealer

Bundle trio

LinuxWorld Dell and Red Hat have solidified their long-running partnership with a new deal centered around the JBoss application server.

For the first time, Red Hat has secured a Tier 1 server vendor as an OEM for the JBoss Application Platform. Customers will find the JBoss Application Server, Hibernate and JBoss Seam all bundled on Dell hardware with – get this – both Linux and Windows as operating system options. The vendors, of course, pitch this as the preferred bundle for running Java applications.

Dell and Red Hat have a pair of additional bundles too.

There's a Web Application set that links the Red Hat Application Stack with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Dell hardware. It's aimed at Java and LAMP software.

And then there's the Web Edge bundle with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Dell hardware that's targeted at customers doing web serving via Apache.

You'll find a breakdown of the hardware and software available from Dell here. ®
