BlackBerry finds Outlook 2007 an upgrade too many1 May 2007 15:35 But RIM denies any problemSome early adopters who've jumped to Outlook 2007 are finding that Research in Motion's (RIM) desktop software, for synchronisation with BlackBerry devices, won't support the latest version of Microsoft's PIM (Personal Information Manager). Not all users have encountered the problem, which seems to be due to Outlook 2007 storing its data in a different format to previous versions. Those using RIM's Enterprise Server shouldn't be affected, nor should anyone using the internet-hosted service run by RIM. It's only small businesses which are having problems, and only those that have upgraded to Office 2007. Potential workarounds have been suggested on the BlackBerry forums, though we've been unable to test them and they are complex - hardly reflecting the simplicity of use RIM is known for. RIM has told Reg readers there is no schedule for a fix, but when we contacted the company it claimed to be entirely unaware of any problems. ® 7 comments posted — Comment period finished Thier not the only onesPosted: 19:05 1st May 2007 New formats?Posted: 19:25 1st May 2007 Re: Thier not the only onesPosted: 21:09 1st May 2007 Re: They're Not the Only OnesPosted: 23:36 1st May 2007 Come on people, do not be ridiculous!Posted: 01:43 2nd May 2007
