Intel EOLs mobile Core, Celeron CPUs

Prunes past-their-prime processors

Intel has scheduled a raft of mobile Core Solo, Core Duo and Celeron M processors for termination as it prepares to bring more advanced models to market in the coming months.

Company documents seen by Register Hardware list the Core Solo T1300 and T1400, the low-voltage Core Duo LV L2300, and the Celeron M 410 and 420 as the chips for the chop, all of which will not be available to order from 16 July onwards.

The end-of-life notice covers tray-mounted product and, in the case of the Core Solos, the consumer-oriented boxed versions too.

The discontinuations represent a tidying of the line-ups as Intel gears up to ship updated Core 2 Duo LVs in Q2 alongside further Celeron M 500 CPUs and, in Q3, Core 2 Solo products.
