Business whitepaper - Virtualization: the four key cost savings
Memory specialist Kingston Technology yesterday claimed to be the first company to ship DDR 2 memory modules clocked to 1.2GHz - aka PC2-9600. The firm also made available PC2-9200, 1.15GHz DIMMs.
Japan's Buffalo announced a PC2-9600 memory module in September 2006, but it doesn't appear to have begun shipping the product yet, according to the company's US and Japanese websites.
Kingston's HyperX PC2-9200 and PC2-9600 modules are available singly in 512MB and 1GB capacities, and in dual-channel 1GB and 2GB packs. They include a lifetime warranty. Prices range from £72 for 512MB of 1.15GHz memory to £278 for the 2GB 1.2GHz pack.
Both models run at 2.3-2.35V and have latency ratings of 5-5-5-15. ®
