AMD this morning rolled out its 65nm Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processors, as expected [1]. The chips are pitched as "energy efficient" products, and come in at the same price as their 90nm equivalents.

Four 65nm were added to AMD's public price list today: the Athlon 64 X2 4000+, 4400+, 4800+ and 5000+, clocked at 2.1GHz, 2.3GHz, 2.5GHz and 2.6GHz, respectively. All four contain 512KB of L2 cache. They're Socket AM2 parts.

Prices run from $169 to $301, slotting the chips in between regular 90nm Athlon 64 X2 and 90nm energy efficient Athlon 64 X2 parts.

The prices of AMD's other processors remains unchanged. ®
