Apple patches Tiger28 Jun 2006 09:09 Mac OS X 10.4.7 postedApple has posted Mac OS X 10.4.7, the latest update for the Mac maker's 'Tiger' operating system. The list of tweaks is as long as your arm, and the update weighs in at a 131MB download for Intel-based systems and a more modest 64MB file for PowerPC Macs. Full details of the Apple-recommended update can be found here. As usual, the download is available through Mac OS X's Software Update... tool - look in the Apple menu - or through direct downloads for PowerPC Macs (here) and Intel machines (here). These downloads update Mac OS X 10.4.6 - Apple also has downloads for anyone who is still on 10.4.0-10.4.5. The update patches the OS' Mail, Safari, iChat, Finder, iSync, TextEdit, Disk Utility and Automator, and fixes a number of issues 10.4.6 had with Apple's other applications. A number of conflicts with third-party programs have been fixed too. The update also adds drivers for third-party wireless network add-in cards for PowerBook users with PC Card slots. It also rolls in all the most recent security patches. ®
