According to a DailyTech report citing Taiwanese motherboard and chipset makers, AMD has told its customers Socket AM2 will launch a week after its unveils its energy efficient processor line-up and pricing. A week later, on 31 May, systems based on AMD's Live! specification - the company's answer to Intel's Viiv platform - will become available, the report adds. Live! was announced in January and will centre on AMD's dual-core desktop and notebook chips, though the latter have yet to launch - presumably they'll debut alongside Live!. AMD's energy efficient processor family is expected to include dual- and single-core Athlon 64 and Sempron desktop chips with TDPs of 65W and 35W. ®
