HCL moves in at DSG International

Retailer finally strikes an outsourcing deal

Watch Now : Virtual Machine Movement with Hyper-V

Indian giant HCL Technologies has clinched a massive outsourcing deal with DSG International - six months after the retailer’s plans to outsource internal IT support to LogicaCMG collapsed.

HCL described the deal as “a multi-year, multi-service, multi-million dollar (and for all we know multi-storey) co-sourcing deal” covering system development, application delivery and support and maintenance. It added it was its largest this year.

The deal follows last year's chaos at DSG - which operates high-street retailers Dixons and Currys - when the group began a review of its IT services, then began planning to outsource internal IT support to LogicaCMG. However, despite publicy acknowledging the plan in May, it was scrapped in July when the two could not agree terms.®
