Space aficionados will know that today marks the anniversary of the first manned Moon landing on 20 July 1969. To celebrate this fact, Google has knocked up a quick Moon map showing the landing sites of all six US jaunts.

In the process, Google has discovered something approaching a sense of humour. Click here (http://moon.google.com/) and then zoom right in for the full picture.

That's right: it's humour Jim, but not as we know it. Or at least not as we know it over here in Blighty, and for this reason we are stripping Google of a vowel and downgrading its effort to humor. Nice try, though. ®

One the other hand...

Thanks to all those readers who have written in to ask that we reinstate the Google "u" in honour of this far better effort (http://www.google.com/jobs/lunar_job.html). You can decide for yourselves.
