Green Power! WEEE-compliant PSUs19 Apr 2005 15:01 Low on hazardous substancesFSP Group is prepping for the EU's upcoming recycling regime, with Green Power. The Taiwanese vendor says the power supply unit is lighter and more energy-efficient than traditional rivals and it is low on hazardous substances. The internal lay-out has been redesigned and use of lighter higher-end components has enabled the company to strip 600g off the weight of the PSU. This will be good for shipping export bills. The pitch for Green Power is that it will help customers conform with The ROHS Directive (Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) effective from 1 July 2006, and with the WEEE Directive.
