Novell man reappears at CA

Mysterious and mysteriouser...

Novell's technology boss Alan Nugent, whose mysterious departure was announced earlier this week, has resurfaced at Computer Associates.

CA poached Nugent to head up its Unicenter business unit. CA has been rejigging its management structure from organisation around brands to organisation around business units.

Nugent starts his new role 8 April and he will report to Russell Artzt, executive vice president of products at CA. Before Novell, Nugent worked as CIO for Vectant. Prior to this he was chief technologist for Bell South. Nugent began his career at HP.

Unicenter provides server management software.

Earlier this month Lee Richards was appointed by the US courts to oversee Computer Associates' efforts to clear up its books after a £2bn hole was found in its accounts. Former CA chief executive Sanjay Kumar was charged with fraud late last year.
