Novell is buying Tally Systems (http://www.tallysystems.com/), a small software company from Lebanon, NH for an undisclosed sum. The company is to integrate Tally’s IT asset management software into Zenworks, its systems management suite.

There is a Sarbanes Oxley angle to the purchase, according to Novell chief Jack Messman. The Tally-Zenworks combo gives customers a "powerful method of ensuring compliance, reducing software costs and preparing for software audits", he says.
