Novell's tech boss jumps ship

Just before the user conference...can't blame him really...

Novell's chief technology officer is jumping ship to another IT firm just before the company's annual customer bean feast Brainshare.

Alan Nugent, Novell's CTO, is leaving to take over the management of another technology firm he declines to name. Nugent started at Novell in 2002.

He told Infoworld the job offer was a great opportunity to run a business unit which is bigger than Novell. His departure follows that of vice chairman Chris Stone in November last year.
