Vodafone has struck global deals with IT distribution giants Ingram Micro and Tech Data to help it target business customers through traditional IT channel networks.
The two wholesalers will carry business products, such as Vodafone’s Mobile Connect 3G/GPRS datacard range and the Blackberry from Vodafone range, as well as Vodafone’s business services.
Vodafone’s traditional retail channel picks up some business customers and its direct sales team also target business, particularly multinationals.
By bringing on board Tech Data and Ingram, the operator hopes to grab those businesses who tend to do procurement through one or two IT resellers.
A spokeswoman for Vodafone said that the majority of resellers would be dealing with at least one of the distributors in most markets.®
