Microsoft Office 2003 gets first service pack
SP1 for Office 2003
The first major update for Office 2003 is available for download from today.
Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) promises better security and reliability and new features for OneNote and InfoPath.
Email client Outlook is getting better spam filters - you will be able to send spam to the junk file based on the sender's country suffix or the character encoding of a message. Users will also be able to automatically add the names of email reply recipients to their Safe Sender list.
InfoPath developers will get better tools for managing code and for handling XML schemas. OneNote will be more closely integrated into Office - you will be able to import meeting details from Outlook and publish pages in Word.
The Access Conversion Toolkit, available to download separately, aims to make managing such upgrades easier.
