Reseller are chipper about future

Confidence rises

Europe's computer dealers are more confident about business prospects than they were at the beginning of the year, According to the latest Context Europe survey.

Resellers were asked in February to estimate the growth in sales in the first quarter, compared to the same period a year ago. The average figure was 12.1 per cent - up from 11.9 per cent in January.

Jeremy Davies, senior partner at Context, said in a statement: ""Europe's IT resellers are quietly confident about this quarter's
prospects. Growth in notebook PCs and services are at the top of the resellers' list of opportunities, with networks related business a close second."

Storage and servers are also growing markets, reflecting increased demand from medium and larger businesses. Desktop PC sales rose in the month, but handheld sales dropped significantly.

Context's monthly 'Channel Facts' survey talks to resellers across Europe. ®
